We are delighted to announce that Jasin Hodžić, ourstudent of the first year of Master's degree program at the Department of Genetics and Bioengineering, has been awarded the "Best Student Paper Award" at ICOS2017 - International Conference on Official Statistics.
The International Conference on Official Statistics; Challenges, Opportunities and Future directions (ICOS2017) is a joint initiative by the School of Economics and Business of the University of Sarajevo and the Institute for Statistics of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina that aims to bring together academics, practitioners and data users to present their research, share their best practices, and discuss avenues for development of official statistics in Bosnia and Herzegovina and globally.
Within the program of the conference, an independent commission evaluated and selected the best three student works whose authors will receive monetary awards at a ceremony to be held on March 30 2017 at ICOS2017 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The awarded students will also be given a chance to present their research at ICOS2017 and have them published in the ICOS2017 Conference Proceedings.
Under supervision of our Assist. Prof. Dr. Şenol Doğan, Jasin Hodžić prepared and submitted the paper "Statistical Analysis of Bihać Territory Soil Chemical Composition Data for Creation of Soil Composition Profiles". The data used in the research was provided by the Agricultural Institute of Una Sana Canton, under authorization of the director of the institute, Mr. Edham Hodžić, MSc.
